No Free Man
THE CAST
JESS HADLEIGH returns in 2016 in the role of 'Betty,' the strong-willed and opinionated daughter of Lord Atkin. PETER PEARSON returns in the role of Lord Atkin. And JEREMY RADBURN returns as well, keeping the cast entirely intact from 2015, in the role of Atkin's long-time friend and peer in the House of Lords in the role of Lord Wright.
Scott Wright
Part of the research on this play was conducted in the Library of Gray's Inn in 2010-2011. It was a great honor for the author, director and cast to have the play performed in the historic Hall of Gray's Inn, beneath the portrait of Lord Atkin, on 2-3 July 2015. Audience members included leading British barristers, judges, many elite members of the Inn, journalists and several of Lord and Lady Atkin's descendants.

Lady Hale Joins the Regulation 18B Panel
In a delightful impromptu moment, on the evening of 2nd July 2015, Lady Hale of the UK Supreme Court accepted the invitation of panel moderator, Gray's Inn Treasurer Desmond Browne QC, to address a question from the audience. She joined the post-performance panel discussion to not only address the question dealing with judicial dissent, but ventured further as well into a discussion on how courts balance national security with the important need for protecting civil liberties. L to R: Baroness Hale, the play's author Scott Wright, barristers Michael Beloff and Desmond Browne, and Justice John Mitting looking on.
